Description

In the early 60s, the concept of the Mustang, an inexpensive yet powerful pony car, was almost unimaginable. That was until Gale Halderman, the head designer of the first-generation Mustang, helped turn that vision into a reality. During a competition between the Ford and Mercury studios for a new, sporty "youth car,” codenamed the T-5, Halderman's design was chosen out of two dozen entries. Halderman's sketch was taken without revisions, and with that, the basis for the best-selling sports car in North America was created. Here is a watch worn by Gale Halderman, who donated it to Ford Mustang expert John Clor. The watch, a gold-tone Citizen in a classic style, has a black lizard strap.
